Old Farnhamians' Association

2013 Southampton Lunch

Friday, 16 October, 2013

The Woodlands Lodge Hotel in the New Forest played host to over thirty former pupils of Farnham Grammar School as they celebrated their 52nd Southampton Lunch.

As usual Old Boys travelled from afar to join old classmates with Gerry LeVey coming from York and Maurice Jeffreys from Chagford in Devon and Norman Paget flying over from Baltimore USA. The room buzzed with the sound of tales of time at the old School and Cyril Trust said a few words at this mainly informal affair.

He said that Surrey was celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of George Sturt, well-known author and former Old Boy. Also the Old Farnhamians would have a stand at the Surrey Showcase  on Saturday 19th October at the Adult Education Centre in Farnham, which was the original home of the Grammar School. On 1st November the Old Boys would present the 25th Farnham Lecture with Jeremy Hunt, local MP for South West Surrey and Secretary of State of State for Health speaking about ‘The Health of the Nation’.

Secretary, Roger Edgell, closed the event by announcing that the Annual President’s Lunch would be at the Ramada Hotel, Farnham on 29th March 2014.
