On this page we are attempting to identify the names of the 314 boys and staff in the 1954 school photo. If you can add to the names below, or if you think we have incorrect identification, please email iansargeant@brocas.co.uk .

 

Beware of the following! Row 2 is boys kneeling on the ground, but the row has a gap in front of the members of staff. Row 3 is short boys standing on the ground and Row 4 is taller boys also standing on the ground. Row 3 has a gap behind the Headmaster. You need to count carefully across the rows from left to right and identify names by row and place number. The listing below is not a grid - treat each row separately as you cannot get the relative position of one person to another from the list if they are in different rows.  The exercise is easier if you print this page, put the picture on screen and write names onto the printed list.
