The Old Girls had their Reunion and AGM on 24th September, which was the most successful in recent years celebrating the 110th Anniversary of the founding of the the School. The numbers (100 in all) were greatly augmented by the attendance of 48 of the class of 1961, who had been encouraged to attend by the sterling efforts of their class mate Annie Judd (née Crookes).Another large group had been organized by Jane Gates (née Hurdle) of the leavers of 1961.

The AGM disappointingly brought no new members to the committee, but hope springs eternal! There were two speakers - the first, Maureen Bleeker (née Turner), twin sister of the chairman, gave an interesting account of her time as very young wife in Holland over 50 years ago and the way she adapted to living in that country. The second speaker, Jean Parratt (née Bowdery), gave a potted history in anecdotal form illustrated with snatches of vintage music. Her finale include a recording of "Jerusalem" whereupon the entire audience rose to its feet in a hearty rendition of our much loved old school song (which is still sung by the current junior school occupants of the school). Then followed an extra special tea (as always organized by the committee) with an large celebration cake decorated with the FGGS logo.

Before departing many members took the opportunity to tour the school.
